How it works

From first contact to a season program

01

Send your profile

Company details, certifications, crops, calibres, weekly capacity and packhouse photos. One form, no travel required.

02

Technical review

We check GlobalG.A.P. and GRASP status, residue management, cold-chain capability and packaging against European buyer specifications.

03

Trial shipment

We start with one or two loads per crop so both sides can measure arrival quality, shelf life and claim rate before committing to volume.

04

Season program

Weekly volume, calibre split and price mechanism fixed for the window, with settlement documented shipment by shipment.

Two commercial models

Sell outright, or on commission

Fixed price

We buy your load at an agreed price per package. You invoice, we own the goods on departure and carry the market risk.

Best when you want predictable cash flow and no exposure to European market swings.

Commission

You keep ownership until the goods are sold. We sell into our buyer base and settle the realised sales value less agreed costs and commission.

Best when the market is rising or the crop is premium and you want the upside.

What we require

Standards before the first load

  • GlobalG.A.P. certification (or an audit in progress)
  • GRASP social compliance assessment
  • Packhouse able to pack European retail-grade cartons, topseal or pool crates
  • Residue management with current MRL analyses per lot
  • Pre-cooling to the crop set point within 12 hours of harvest
  • Phytosanitary registration with the national plant protection authority

Not certified yet? Tell us anyway — we regularly work with packhouses during their audit process. See the full supplier program.

Where your fruit lands

Six European markets, one contract

Your volume is placed with wholesalers, re-packers and retail distribution centres in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, the United Kingdom and Scandinavia — all cleared and consolidated through Rotterdam.

FAQ

Exporting to Europe, answered

What do I need to start exporting fruit to Europe?
A certified production base (GlobalG.A.P. plus GRASP), a packhouse that can pack to European retail specification, pre-cooling capacity, current residue analyses and phytosanitary registration. Crown Fields handles the European side: clearance, cold storage, buyers, invoicing and claims.
Do I need my own European buyers?
No. That is what we bring. You produce and pack to specification; we place the volume with wholesalers and retail programmes in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, the UK and Scandinavia.
How and when am I paid?
On fixed-price programmes you are paid against your invoice on the agreed payment terms. On commission you receive an account sale per shipment showing sold quantities, realised prices, agreed costs and the commission, with payment following settlement.
What volume do you need to start?
One truck per week per crop is a workable starting programme. We prefer to begin with a trial load and grow the programme once arrival quality is proven.
What happens if there is a quality problem on arrival?
Every load is inspected on arrival with photographed quality reports at shipment level. If a claim arises you receive the report and the evidence, and the deduction is calculated from documented findings rather than a verbal estimate.
Which crops are you actively looking for?
Nadorcott mandarins and late clementines, Valencia and Maroc Late oranges, red, yellow and green bell peppers, Kapia and Palermo sweet peppers, watermelons, round and cluster tomatoes, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and table grapes.
